Yes, when the weather changes, those damn scars are itchy and painful. The deeper the (healed) wound was, the itchier their scars feel now.
But we are no longer ignorant; now we recognize the patterns, and we know ourselves. As we say here, "We've already seen this movie", we know the plot, and we don't have to watch it all over again. We make a new movie, our own.

The thing with the itchy scars is also that you know it's nothing serious... just unpleasant and something that will fade once the sun is shining again.
Maybe scapegoats are indeed the strongest after all we "had to" go through.
