In medium and high school (6 years in total) every year they give a "progress praise" to every student with grades higher than 18.5/20 and one "distinction praise" to the student who was top of the class. Back then they were folded like papyrus rolls and tied with a ribbon. I got 12 rolls.

When they gave me the first pair and went home, my mother took them from my hand and with a satisfied proud smile unfolded one and started reading it, as if it belonged to her. I asked her to give me at least the other one to be the first to unfold. She refused.

I said to her "they are mine, I earned them, let me read it first, give them back to me" My mother scolded me, saying that I had a big idea of myself and these "pieces of paper are nothing, just trash" and threw them on the floor.

That's really sad. I hope you find room to heal the child inside you. 🧸

Oh, I have room 😂 I left the rolls behind when I moved. They asked me what they would do with them and my thought contained the words: shove, them, up, your and 1 more
